May Recap

April ended and May started with a movie:

Tenki no Ko

- I finally got to watch this movie and it is incredible.
- Such a perfect soundtrack and the artwork was of course immaculate.
- Loved the little references to Your Name as well.
- Such a unique storyline and would recommend to everyone.
- The suspense was a little predictable but still had me watching with all my attention.

The TikTok hype made me:

Given

- After the whole anime community on Tik Tok talking about this show I had to watch and it was apart of my watch challenge

- Where do I even start with this show

- Before I give it all my love and praise the art style threw me off at the start, it reminded me of Konbini Boyfriend and that was something else but it proved me wrong.

- The story line is at such a great pace and you slowly grow to love every character but then all of a sudden you reach episode and a whole new appreciation for the characters is developed.

- Episode 9 made me cry and I haven't cried from an anime in a long time, maybe Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was the last one.

- Obviously the soundtrack was flawless

- Even though it is getting hyped on Tik Tok it isn't spoke about anywhere else which is sad

- A movie is meant to be coming out which is the prequel and I can't wait

- Would recommend if you have similar anime tastes to me.

For the watch challenge:

Gangsta.

- Where do I start? It had so much potential... but it just didn't quite reach my expectations.

- The soundtrack was meh but the characters were interesting especially Nicolas who was deaf. Each character had a good background story as well.

- Such a shame that there will never be a season two as I would of definitely watched it.

- The show wasn't good enough for me to want to read the manga but kept me entertained for the 12 episodes.

Another movie:

Karigurashi no Arrietty

- Classic Ghibli film.

- Pretty art style, great animation, captiving plot paired with great soundtrack.

- Not my favourite Ghibli movie but not a bad one either

- Definitely should watch but better movies out there.

So many movies:

Promare

- Animation and colours were very interesting and something I haven't seen before

- I really liked Lio but the rest of the characters weren't anything special.

- Interesting story line, very similar to fire force

- Pretty epic fighting scenes but sometimes I couldn't tell what was going on because there was too much colour!

- Wasn't bad but wasn't the greatest.

Short but sweet, it is over:

May was a busy month, and I only got around to a few movies. I don't think it will happen but hopefully June will bring more chances to watch anime.
